Bio

I am currently in process for becoming a Reverend in the United Church of Canada. I wasn’t raised with any formal or informal religion, so imagine my surprise to find myself on the path to ordained ministry shortly after the birth of my first child.

Growing up though I looked around the world and thought it was sacred. What I couldn’t wrap my mind around was not the beauty but the horror that we often created. Like many of you I went exploring and seeking through a variety of traditions, science, education and personal practice, some of which went well and some, well, not so much.   A skilled writer and public speaker, my ideal working relationship is to make your project or organization flourish. I bring over 10 years of experience working with the non-profit, government and business sectors, providing communications and strategic counsel on a wide range of projects and issues. From national public relations campaigns to writing websites for small local businesses, my services are tailored for projects large and small. What matters to me is that you are committed to your work and want to share the “why” of what you do. I love working with people who are passionate about a cause or a product. I work seamlessly with your team, and can be in the background or take on the leadership role.

Prior to working as an independent, I was the Program Director for the Hollyhock Leadership Institute where I provided training, leadership development and strategic support to environmental non-profits working on issues such as the tars sands, the Great Bear Rainforest, and climate change.  I was an Account Manager at Quay Strategies Inc, a BC public relations firm that specialized in healthcare for four years, and a Marketing Specialist with the Canadian Cancer Society.

Currently I am the mother of two children, a singer and poet, and am working on a Masters of Divinities at the Vancouver School of Theology.
